Description
Lipo-B is an extended variant of the Lipo-C family that, in addition to the classical lipotropic components (methionine, inositol, choline), contains an expanded B-vitamin complex. Typical Lipo-B formulations combine alongside B12 also B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid) and B6 (pyridoxine). This expansion addresses energy metabolism more broadly than the pure Lipo-C configuration.
The research mechanism lies in parallel in the methylation pool (through the Lipo-C components) and in mitochondrial cofactor supply (through the B vitamins). B vitamins are cofactors in virtually all central metabolic pathways: B1 in pyruvate metabolism, B2 in the respiratory chain, B3 as NAD/NADP precursor, B5 in coenzyme A, B6 in amino acid metabolism reactions, B12 in methylation and the homocysteine pathway.
In research setups, Lipo-B is particularly interesting when, alongside hepatic lipid metabolism, broader energy metabolism endpoints are also investigated. The expansion with B vitamins addresses NAD+ precursors and mitochondrial cofactors, making Lipo-B a complementary variant to MOTS-C or NAD+.
Like Lipo-C, Lipo-B is not a peptide but a defined vitamin-amino acid formulation. Research application is typically parenteral in preclinical setups, as oral bioavailability of the components varies.

- Injection site: redness, pressure, mild burning or transient irritation at the injection site is the most common observation.
- B-vitamin complex: due to the expanded B-vitamin portion, a flushing sensation, warmth or mild tingling is occasionally reported after application, as is typical for B3- and B12-containing blends.
- Digestion: mild gastrointestinal discomfort is occasionally described with higher-dosed blends.
- Limited data: direct comparative studies on Lipo-B as a specific formulation are lacking, the classification is derived from the individual component data, and robust long-term data on the blend do not exist.
