Knowledge

What you need to know

Description

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is a chemically modified variant of the classical Russian anxiolytic peptide Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro). The N-terminal acetylation and C-terminal amidation protect the molecule from enzymatic degradation and substantially extend biological half-life.

Per study reports the substance acts like parent compound Selank: modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic pathways with anxiolytic action without typical benzodiazepine side effects like sedation or dependence. Selank was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is approved in Russia for treatment of anxiety disorders.

The acetylated and amidated variant theoretically brings better pharmacokinetics at the same action mechanism. Direct comparison studies between NA-Selank and Selank are however limited.

Typical application is intranasal in multiple daily drop doses. The NA variant can also be administered subcutaneously with improved systemic availability.

You can order N-Acetyl Selank Amidate as lyophilized peptide in 10-pack at 30mg per vial.

Risks & Safety

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is considered very well tolerated per study reports. The safety profile follows the parent compound Selank, which is consistently described as low in side effects, without typical benzodiazepine drawbacks such as sedation or dependence.

Observed in research and user reports:

  • Intranasal irritation: with intranasal use, mild burning, dryness or irritation of the nasal mucosa is the most common observation.
  • Injection site: with subcutaneous use, isolated reports of mild redness or pressure at the injection site.
  • Fatigue: occasional reports of brief fatigue or calming, as the compound addresses anxiolytic pathways.
  • No data on the modified variant: direct comparison studies between NA-Selank and the original Selank are limited, and robust long-term human data on the acetylated and amidated form do not exist.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.
