Getting started

Reported dosing (research community)

Per-day figures in mg, often split. SR9009 has a short duration and very poor oral bioavailability, factor that in honestly.

What is SR9009?

SR9009, often called Stenabolic, is an agonist at the Rev-erb receptor, a switch of the internal clock and energy metabolism. It is often mentioned alongside cardarine but is not a SARM and not a PPAR agonist. The idea: mimic part of the endurance and metabolic effects of training.

Up front: SR9009 has very poor oral bioavailability, the impressive mouse effect hardly translates 1:1 to the oral human.

How it works

Through the Rev-erb receptor SR9009 influences the formation of new mitochondria and energy metabolism in muscle. In mice this markedly increased endurance performance. SR9009 does not act on the androgen receptor, so it suppresses no hormone axis.

How to take it

Oral, spread over the day because of the short duration.

  • Frequently several times daily, often also before training.
  • With some water, with or without food.

What the research shows

The well-known study (Woldt, Nature Medicine 2013) showed in mice that SR9009 via Rev-erbalpha increased the oxidative capacity of muscle and raised running endurance by about 50 percent. That is impressive but animal research, often with injection. In the orally dosed human the effect is questionable because of the poor bioavailability.

Side effects

  • Solid human data are largely missing.
  • Few acute side effects are generally reported, but that does not hide the missing data.
  • Banned in official competition.

Storage

Store dry, cool and protected from light, out of reach of children. Keep the original container closed and mind the expiry date.
